“The overwhelming misinformation from the social media regarding infectious disease has left many wondering who they can trust.”
Serving a need
SARS-CoV-2 is a novel virus that has created a worldwide pandemic with a deluge of information causing COVID fatigue. Just like the public, medical practitioners in office-based practices are finding it almost impossible to digest, much less discern factual, evidenced-based reporting from anecdotal information. Unfortunately, industry advocacy, regulatory, and educational groups are not providing significant education or protocol for how to do this. Most in private practice have a long history of preventing blood-borne disease transmission, but maybe less fluent in airborne ones. Safe practice standards against an unknown airborne virus may require additional knowledge over and above their existing training or experience. This void is vast and needs narrowing. To do that, we have brought together a team of experts to develop safe practice standards for practices that do not have access to the infectious disease specialists available to hospital-based providers. Our advisory board is from a variety of specialty areas and are considered the industry thought leaders in their field of expertise. We have experts in clean and sterile field practice standards, in clinical care, in research of evidenced-based information, and infectious disease. We combine our expertise and experience to find ways that you can apply new evidence-based knowledge to your clinical care protocols using scientifically proven methodologies.
We believe the face of healthcare has changed forever, even if the public may someday get back to a new normal approaching pre-pandemic conditions. Our goal is to help each other get through these difficult times together and to help you focus on your practice skill sets and running our business, knowing that your membership in the IASPS allows you to spend just a few hours a month keeping up with the relevant new knowledge you will need in the rapidly changing times brought on by this virus and now its variants.
We hope you will join us in keeping you and your practice safe….
